"I wanted to cross-stitch all the time, and for the things I created to make their way out into the world and be loved by other people, and that would have been enough for me. Then I was laid off from my job at the end of January, and all of a sudden I had this opportunity to make it into something real. I thought that if I didn’t commit to it then, I never would. That same day I called a friend who started her own business the year before, and it just took off from there."
